As a Document Control Technician (Document Controller II) at Worley, you will play a vital role in maintaining and controlling project documentation. You will manage large-scale projects’ document control systems, ensuring the efficient flow of documents between the project team, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. This is a high-impact position where you’ll be integral in facilitating efficient project operations and maintaining data integrity.
Duties:
- Maintain and manage a central project document control system, ensuring the proper tracking, review, and approval of documentation.
- Establish and implement project-related document control registers and procedures.
- Oversee the timely distribution of project documents, including designs, procedures, product certifications, and records.
- Coordinate document flow between clients, project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Track and issue documents, drawings, and transmittal letters, ensuring their accuracy and accessibility.
- Manage the removal of obsolete documents and organize the storage and archiving of project records.
- Act as the main point of contact for document control matters for large projects.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) systems relevant to the project.
- Provide mentorship to junior document controllers and ensure knowledge transfer to local personnel.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree and/or equivalent diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Document Controller in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry.
- Previous work experience on PMC (Project Management Consultancy) projects in GCC countries (Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, UAE).
- Experience working with advanced engineering tools, data systems, and general office software.
- Strong knowledge of Contractual Terms, Commercial Contract Law, and process engineering requirements from FEED through to commissioning.
- Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients from diverse nationalities and backgrounds.
- Proficiency in handling confidential information with discretion.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor and coach team members.
