Primary Objective:
As a Document Control Technician, you will maintain a central project document control system, overseeing documentation for project teams, clients, vendors, and third parties. Your role is vital in establishing efficient document control procedures and ensuring smooth document flow across all parties involved.
Duties:
- Document Control System: Maintain and optimize a central project document control system, including establishing and implementing document control registers and procedures.
- Correspondence Management: Establish and maintain a comprehensive filing system for project-related correspondence.
- Document Review and Approval: Expedite the review and approval process of various documentation, including designs, procedures, instructions, product certification, and records.
- Document Flow Supervision: Plan, supervise, and record the flow of documents to and from clients, subcontractors, and project offices, ensuring accurate tracking of documents and drawings.
- Archiving and Storage: Coordinate the removal of obsolete documents and oversee the storage and archiving of project and organizational records.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance system guidelines relevant to the business unit (BU).
- Safety Compliance: Uphold personal safety and safe working practices, adhering to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) procedures.
- Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert and mentor to less experienced staff, providing training programs for local Kuwaiti personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Degree and/or an equivalent diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Industry Experience: Minimum years of work experience in document control, preferably within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry, particularly with heavy oil projects.
- Regional Experience: At least 3 years of work experience in a related designation within a GCC country.
- PMC Project Exposure: Experience working within Project Management Consultancy (PMC) projects in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with advanced engineering tools, data systems, and general office/engineering software.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively across diverse cultures.
- Knowledge of Contracts: Extensive knowledge of Contractual Terms & Conditions and Commercial Contract Law.
- Project Lifecycle Knowledge: Broad-based knowledge of process engineering requirements through all project life cycle phases, from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to Commissioning.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor colleagues.
