The College of Engineering and Technology (CoET) at AUM is dedicated to maintaining high-quality academic programs through a learner-centered approach. The Department of Industrial Engineering, which offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate program, is currently recruiting full-time faculty members as Laboratory Instructors, starting in Fall Semester 2024.
Job Requirements:
- Educational Background: A Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally accredited university.
- Language Proficiency: Demonstrable skills in oral and written English, the primary language of instruction and communication on campus.
- Experience: Previous academic or industry experience is a plus.
- Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary, and fast-paced environment.
Research Interests:
Successful applicants should demonstrate teaching experience and research interest in at least one of the following topics:
- Computing in Industrial Engineering
- Ergonomics
- Operations Research
- Facility Design
- Digital Human Modeling with JACK Software
- Production and Supply Chain Operations
- Simulation Modeling with Arena
- Any other related areas in Industrial Engineering
Job Description:
Faculty members will engage in teaching, service, research, and professional development tasks. Successful candidates are expected to:
- Prepare lab manuals and syllabi.
- Design and test laboratory experiments.
- Deliver laboratory sessions, including pre-laboratory presentations.
- Supervise and assist students in all aspects related to laboratory work and associated courses.
- Assess students’ performance using various assessment tools outlined in the lab syllabi (quizzes, presentations, lab reports, exams, etc.).
- Strive to enhance teaching effectiveness through appropriate strategies.
- Maintain records of students’ attendance.
- Compile laboratory course portfolios by the end of each semester.
- Maintain logs and equipment record books.
- Order necessary equipment and specimens.
- Ensure compliance with university safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Assist in proctoring exams.
- Support faculty in research within the same specialized area.
- Contribute to professional development activities.
- Engage in college and departmental activities with a spirit of leadership and collegiality.
- Undertake any additional duties as directed by the Head of the Department.
