Job Introduction

A leading company is urgently looking for a highly experienced Electrical Design Engineer for an EPC Project with Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in Design, Engineering, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Electrical Systems in the Oil & Gas industry.

Responsibilities

✅ Electrical Design & Load Analysis

• Develop electrical load lists and classify loads (continuous, intermittent, standby).
• Perform electrical load estimation and maximum demand calculations.
• Define electrical distribution philosophy and system selection.

✅ Transformer & Generator Sizing

• Establish sizing criteria for electrical components.
• Perform transformer and generator sizing calculations based on load requirements.

✅ Single Line Diagrams & Short Circuit Calculations

• Select MCCB/CB breakers and busbar ratings.
• Conduct short circuit calculations to ensure system reliability.

✅ Cable Sizing & Selection

• Ensure compliance with IEC 60502/IEC 60364-5-52 standards.
• Specify cable types and configurations.
• Develop cable schedules and interconnection schedules.
• Design cable trays, trenches, and routing layouts.

✅ Cable Tray & Accessories Specification

• Select materials for cable trays and conduits.
• Determine tray sizing and fill calculations.
• Design trench sizing for paved and unpaved areas.
• Plan road crossings for electrical infrastructure.

✅ Bill of Materials Preparation

• Develop a comprehensive bill of materials for electrical components.

Qualifications

🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
🔹 Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical design within the oil & gas industry.
🔹 Strong knowledge of EPC projects, specifically with KNPC standards.
🔹 Proficiency in electrical engineering software and design tools.
🔹 Experience with IEC standards and electrical compliance regulations.
🔹 Excellent communication and project management skills.
